Wow, It's hard to believe that a month has already gone by since the Fabulous Fortieth Reunion! I'm so glad I got to go to this one - I really enjoyed the events, the good company, the music and camaraderie. The recollections replay well along with the music from Michael Reames - Thanks again, Michael! I'm looking forward to making it to the next one. I hope the time between now and then is good to everyone! ~ Gayle
And pass up perfectly good beer....never...lol
...Just DON'T drink the water !!...
This Oak Cliff boy feels a little out of place!
Yikes.... Minneapolis... that's a long way out of Oak Cliff !!!....
Ok Michael, got me on that! I'm up in Minneapolis right now, but as soon as I get home, I'll fix that. :)
I am so sorry that I could not attend the reunion. My career as a writer detained me. I had a booksigning that weekend. Please keep me on your list for future reunions. Thank you, Cheryl
Larry, ole buddy, you need refresh the whats happening page. 4 years is a long time I know that you could get Christian's band schedule and post it as well as mine. However, you guys are so rowdy you might get thrown out there as well....I am willing to take the chance if you are.... come have some fun, October 11th 6pm at the Chataqua Auditorium Getsendaner Park Waxahachie Texas. 100 year old bldg, a cool trip
Great time with great people - Thanks! :) http://www.myspace.com/rpbauer
I agree with Doug.... 11 days after and I'm still dancing.....
Hey guys, It's going on 10 days since the reunion, well hate to say this but I think it was the best yet. All I know is that I am still smiling when I think about the whole weekend. Later!
Hi Guys; Just wanted to say that the Parties were wonderful - (from what I can remember after Friday night) just kidding Jill. Speaking of Jill (in Houston) spoke with her yesterday and today. Power is off of course - but they are OK.. I now know how she feels when I go thru the Hurricans here.. Prayers are always welcome. Jill did say that its like a long camping trip - except bathing in the pool.. lol.. I'll keep ya'll informed.
Guess the last message didn't come through. Hey James Hawthorne, you call that dancing? haha! Just playing with you, at least you didn't do a front handspring this time. That could really hurt now.
Hey, Nice to see everyone again. Let's do it again soon. Dancing was fun,but I found it to be a hell of a lot easier when I was 16
Hey, Cowboys! Thanks for letting me crash your party. It was great to see all you guys again after all these years and hope to see you again. A couple of you inquired about the Kimball '68 40th reunion, which is October 17-18. You can go to www.jfk68.com for more info. Take care and stay young at heart! Danny
Oh my Gosh, I would say it was the best one - Friday Night was Great (from what I remember!) just kidding Jill!! I want to especially thank "all" the Boys that played and sang both nights! Such great "God Given" talant! My HEART aches to come back to Texas, because of all the Sweet people from Carter High School. Time went by way to fast...
Hi Folks, Prosper Arts and Crafts show scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Sept 27, because of Hurricane Ike. Hope you all can make it then, I will be playing with the Back Prairie Band. Come see me with special guest Ryan Michael Galloway October 11 at Chatacqua Auditorium in Waxahachie show starts at 6pm Hope to see you there!
Congrats on what sounds like a great time; sorry I missed it. However, I need to inform all of the loss of Terry Bench ('68) to kidney cancer in March of this year. While I lost touch with Terry over the years, he continued to be known for great golf, wonderful personality, and absolute integrity. He flew many years for Delta following his years in the Air Force, and his immediate family continues to live in Florida. I only recently learned of his passing.
Jana Sue, You little skinny thing, whats wrong with you? Of course I want to still dance....but I have to admit it took several days for my calves to quit hurting!! For those of you who missed this wonderful occasion, we had a ball as usual. I am just sorry I didn't take more pictures of everyone!!! So, I can't wait until Larry posts all of the others!!! Hugs and kisses.......Frieda
OK, now that was fun.... I'm so glad you all showed up to be "17" again. As always I am so thankful I ended up at DW Carter and made such great lifelong friends... I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.. PS Does anyone want to dance????
I really had a wonderful time last weekend. It was great leaving the reality of the world we live in to escape back into the time that was really the greatest time in my life. It was so interesting to see what path everyone has taken yet stayed true to themselves. Thanks to everyone for making more good memories. Looking foward to seeing everyone again soon.
Boy do the Carter Cowboys and Cowgirls of 68&69 know how to party. Plus Carter still has all the good looking girls and wife's. Go CC
It was the best reunion so far, well, except for the 25th (our love connection!!) We had a blast. It was great to see you all and thanks again to everyone for making it so special!
Hey, Everyone!!! This weekend was just wonderful. I enjoyed each and every minute I shared with all of you. You have my vote on a yearly party...time is getting away from us...until later...Charlsye
Hi Folks, Great time last night! Any that missed both parties(Thats right I said both parties!) last night really missed a wonderful time. The first at the clubhouse with the great food and wonderful music by the DJ. Then the after party at the Holday Inn in Frisco, where we provided our own fun, so much so that we were asked to leave...we can still be rowdy when we want......Go Carter class of '68-69. Btw Come see me Oct 11 at the Chataqua auditorim in Waxahachie 6pm-10pm 6 singer/songwriters including myself. Ya'll come!!! The Friday affair was great also, Congrats to the whole reunion team. Great Job folks! To all, it was great seeing everyone!
Hey Guys, Please make a note of my changed email........It has changed since publication or our 40th Reunion Address book. Thanks......Cheers!!
Hey Guys!!! Great job on the reunion this year!! Goes by far too quickly. Thanks again Carol for club house use, was great! We need one of these to happen every year. Had a great time & loads of fun. Hugs & handshakes to all..... Doug

Even after all this time though we every now and then have "another Carter first"!!

This is the OTHER Danny Smith (Kimball Class of '68). I knew a lot of you from our days at Browne and Kimball and was just a few blocks away from going to Carter myself. I've been invited to your reunion, so I hope you won't mind a party crasher! I'll try to behave myself! Looking forward to seeing you guys after all these years!

Hi! I think I'm finally getting all the logistics sorted out and will be able to make the reunion (for the first time). After sixteen years in the cool Northwest, I'm hoping September's weather will be very mild. I'm looking forward to seeing old friends again! ~ Gayle
Looks like for the first time in 40years I will be able to attend a reuion. Look forward to seeing everyone. Thanks for keeping up with me and all your hard work to keep the Class of 1968 together. Allen
Ok, ok...I can't let Joy do all the talking for both of us! Great website! I was so glad to see other classmates living in the Houston area! Mark, Gary, Dora & Jimmy...we should have a get together of our own some day! I hope to see you all in September. I just hope I have time for that face lift, lipo & tummy tuck before then....Take care! Jill (Bailey) DeVay
My twin brother Terry survived a battle with colon cancer, in remission now. He never lost hair from the chem/radiation treatment, however, I did. Who knows the greatest hero in all of the scriptures?
Hi everyone, I just found out about this website & I am very happy to read all of the comments from everyone. Have been living in San Diego from 2001-2005 & will be moving back later this Summer. I've lost touch with many of you, but I am looking forward to seeing & re-connecting with old friends!
Gosh, I will try and make the 40th! If not, I will be thinking of all of you in that hot humid weather. It is wonderful here! The mountains are gorgeous but I make sure and let everyone know I am a Texan at heart. Hope to see all of you!

Just updating my email address. Just noticed that it's changed twice since I last updated. Had lunch with my daughter at the old Candlelite Inn in Arlington today. It still has the old juke boxes at each table. That took me all the way back to the 60's. And my daughter was playing Beatles songs on the juke box! I had a good day. Best wishes to all of you.
Hi to those that might remember me. Procurement manager for a commercial lighting firm in Fort Worth, and weekend keyboard player for a great local retro-rock band. Would love to hear from any of you. Also want to make #40....please keep me posted!
Ok, don't know what went wrong, but at least it was not a hacker. At any rate the guest book is back up and working perfectly.
My email address has change. It is s.w.baker@mac.com
ok ok!! Charlotte, I am here, organized and signing. It's a long time until September but hope to be able to come... Thanks Joanna
No card in the mail but I just got an email from Charlotte. Thanks so much for sending the information along. I'm glad you didn't plan anything for the summer. September may be possible for me. I would love to see my old running buddies, Judy, Janie, and Joanna. Loved seeing the pictures from the last reunion. I didn't always recognize everyone, but that's probably true about me too. Keep the news coming. Vicki
Hope to be able to make this one after missing the last one or two! Keep me updated--thanks!
Website looks good. Hope to be there in September.
I plan to come to the reunion in September. Please keep me informed. Thanks!
Glad to hear that plans are being made. I am looking forward to having a great event. I hope a lot of our classmates can attend. I would like to suggest that the committee figure out a way so that we can interact with one another without the awkwardness of "Hi, I am Danny Mack. Do you remember me?" Perhaps an ice breaker of some sort. I know you guys will do a great job
It does not seem that long ago that we graduated!! Imagine 40 years!
Glad to get your card. Hope to see you for the 40th.
looking forward to the reunion

A big Carter Cowboy thank you to the reunion committee for keeping us all together!

Can't wait, will brush up on my table dancing and swear off young guys to dance with, so I won't break my arm again...dancing!! Hugs and kisses to all, sorry I'm not there to help!!! Andrea
This is a tough thing to tell you, but you need to know that we lost my cousin Gloria Hart this past July 07 in a car accident near Tyler (along with my Father). Bruce Hines and myself attended the joint funeral.
Got the mailing. Hope to head north to Dallas September 6. I'll bring pictures of my grandbabies. Y'all give a holler if you happen to be down Austin way. Vicki
Sorry to hear about Billy. Thank you for letting us know.
I received my 40th Reunion mailing. Thanks. And thank you for all the work that is done to make these events happen. Susan Wolfe '69
Billy passed away this past year.
40 years! I know I'm not that old. Good to hear from the Class of '68.
Received the card yesterday...I had been expecting to hear something. Glad it's finalized.
I got the card in the mail.
Got the card today....the calendar is marked. Hopefully there will be no interruptions to the schedule! Plan to be there. Can't wait to see everyone.....cannot believe it is the 40th! Is that possible?
Got the card today. My address is good. Loking forward to hearing more about the reunion although I am sure it is a mistake and cannot be 40 years since Carter days. That would make us all old and that is impossible!
got the post card about sept. 6 '08
Good time of year to be in Arizona. Sep will be a great time to not be here, and be at the reunion. Hope plans go well. 623-536-5524
Thank goodness... I've been missing all you "17" years olds.... now, how about a party???
Ok boys and girls, we are almost completely back up and running. Hopefully this time a little more bullet proof. I will be making changes constantly for the next few weeks getting everything caught up, so keep checking back.
